How We Work

Before we offer any advice to our clients, it is essential that we get to know you and thoroughly understand your individual circumstances. Once we do, we can establish what we are trying to achieve together.

To this aim, we always put your interests first, not our own.

We always offer our best advice, and the advice we do give, will be given in plain English and will be easy to understand.

This is how our journey together begins…

  1. Initial meeting

Our initial meeting gives us the opportunity to get to know each other better and establish if, and how, we can help you. We will explain what we do, how financial planning works and ask about your financial circumstances and your objectives. There is no obligation for you to commit to anything at this stage.

  2. Information gathering

We’ll establish a detailed and clear picture of your finances, as well as understanding the facts and figures of your current financial arrangements and plans. This is a chance for us to discuss what you want to achieve, and to understand your goals, your specific worries, and challenges, and what your ideal future looks like.

  3. Analysis and research

Our advisers and in-house paraplanning team will use their specialist research, analysis and planning skills to build solutions and strategies that will work for you. We can, if appropriate, use cutting-edge software to build your cashflow model, illustrating how your finances are likely to look at different stages of your life and under different ‘what if’ scenarios, with a focus on stress testing any plans made.

  4. Agreeing your plan

Next, we’ll explain our research and our recommendations. We’ll highlight alternative approaches and any changes that need to take place for you to reach your goals in your desired timeframe. Once a plan is formulated and agreed we will explain each of our recommendations fully and answer any questions that arise.

  5. Implementing your plan

It can be difficult and daunting knowing where to start when establishing solutions relating to your financial planning, with many tax wrappers and the complexities of trusts to name a few. Implementing a plan can seem difficult, this is why we take responsibility and fully action the necessary steps to reduce your workload and make sure everything is correct. Trusts are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

  6. Reviewing your progress

Following implementation of your plan, we will invite you to regular review meetings to see how well you are progressing towards your goals and what, if anything, needs changing in the strategy. If your circumstances, or the wider economy change, we can re-shape the plan to ensure that you remain on track to achieve your end goals.
